14th Annual Read-a-Thon Happening Now!

Rock Creek Forest Elementary School

November 21 – December 5, 2025

Our “Reach for a Book, Reach for Your Dreams” theme invites students to explore new worlds, spark their imaginations, and discover the joy of books. Each book read brings you closer to the stars, so grab your favorite book and get ready for adventure.

The 2025 RCF Holiday Gift Drive is Happening Now Thru December 10th!

The RCF Holiday Drive is kindness in action. Each year, we help make the holidays a little brighter for over 100 RCF families. It’s a beautiful tradition and shows how truly giving our community is.

WHAT: The Rock Creek Forest Cookie Potluck is a special treat for teachers and staff, organized by the PTA, to thank them for their hard work and dedication to students and our RCFES community.

WHEN: Monday December 15th

HOW: Families bake 2 dozen cookies of any kind and send them into school with their students on Monday, December 15. Whether your child brings cookies with them on the bus, cookies are dropped off with a child before school, or a family member drops off cookies separately, all cookies should arrive by 10 am.

PTA volunteers will be at the school all morning to accept the cookies as students arrive and set them up in the teacher/staff lounge. During their breaks, teachers and staff will be able to choose from a variety of cookies and make little boxes of treats to bring home with them!

Thank you in advance for considering participating! It’s a very special way to build community this season, and a teacher/staff favorite.

🏈 Support Our PTA + Play Flag Football!

This coming spring, RISE Flag Football Bethesda will be at Walter Johnson High School April 18-June 13, on Saturdays starting at 4:00 pm. Kids in grades K–8 can join a fun, safe, and inclusive flag football league—plus it helps our PTA! Use the code PTA2026 when you register.

Don’t forget to save your receipts from Snider’s and Corner Market – and you can gather receipts from friends, neighbors, and family, too! When you are next at school, you (or your child) can simply drop off the receipts in the green box outside the RCF front office. These businesses donate 1% of totals (from Snider’s) and 3% (from Corner Market).

There are many ways to engage with the PTA to support your child’s community!

As always, thanks for being part of RCF. Whether you join events, volunteer, or simply stay informed—you make a difference.
